BRITISH FENCING and ENGLAND FENCING

LOUGHBOROUGH UNIVERSITY

SUNDAY 18 MARCH 2012

Following the successful British and England Fencing conferences held in March 2010 and 2011, we are pleased to announce that the first of this year’s conferences for coaches, club organisers and other volunteers (e.g. referees, armourers, event organisers) will be held on Sunday 18 March 2012 at Loughborough University, 9am – 5pm. The conference will be running alongside a National Academy training weekend & the team preparation day for the World Cadet & Junior Championships so many of the top young fencers in the UK will be in attendance.

Laura Gladdish wins Moneteau U15 Sabre PDF Print

Congratulations to Laua Gladdish who won the Moneteau U15 Sabre today with a commanding 10-4 vistory in the final.


Laura fences at MX Fencing and is coached by Phil Shepherd-Foster.

The next TA day is the 11th February

The usual venue in Oxford again. Please see the other articles in the Youth section for the venue, other details details and paperwork.

I now have the rest of the cases for the training diaries, if those of you waiting one please contact me. Before I start printing the pages can those of you who have one please report back on any changes we can think about or additional pages that would be useful.

Also a reminder that you can download additional pages as you need them.

Please contact me if you are wanting to come to either of the days,. People just turning up is causing difficulties in getting the number of coaches right.

Fasttrack coaching course in Cornwall 18th & 19th Feb PDF Print

This course, which will be led by England Fencing Coach Assessor Richard Bonehill is designed to take a fencer with at least one years experience onto the coaching ladder. Those that attend will spend the first day working through the syllabus and the second day will be spent honing their teaching skills and working through the assessment process.
